It's much better used as a second stage after a conventional NR tool such as PRIME. Yes, many people have found that it's best to start with DxO PRIME, and then, only with the noisiest images, add a final polish with DeNoise AI.ĭeNoise AI alone can't be relied on, often adding ugly artefacts if used directly on very noisy images. I believe it's a practice well known on this forum specially with noisy picture where DXO Prime is not enough Thanks!Īfter many experimentation my best results are demosaic and PRIME denoise with DXO PL and most of the time use after that on TIF Topaz Studio 2 filters including Topaz AIClear and also Topaz Denoise filter +some other filters. I've seen a few video comparisons and what Topaz shows on their site but I want to hear from real users.

I'm wondering what do you guys like to use and why? What gives the best results for you? I know It's a bit like comparing apples to oranges because one is a full-on editor and the other is less so. I also see a lot of ads and love for Topaz Studios but people seem to like their AI Clear (from Studio 2) more than the separate Denoise AI and Sharpen AI. However, I know their denoise feature is amazing from reading other posts. I know there's a lot of love for DxO out there and when I was looking at a new editor, I couldn't get into it the same as On1. I currently use On1 as my photo editor (switched from Adobe products) but it isn't as great at denoising as CNXD in the testing I did. That being said, I recently read that denoise "should" be closer to the end of your workflow, which means I'm completely backward. My current workflow is to use Nikon Capture NX-D to denoise then export as TIFF and go from there. This may seem a little weird but I'm looking for the "best" option(s) for denoising my photos.
